How SnowVR gets data from scanner?

SnowVR uses Snow Inventory Agents and integration with Oracle Scanners to gather data from hardware and software environments. These agents are deployed across various operating systems, like Windows, macOS, Linux, and Unix, where they collect detailed information on software usage, hardware specifications, and user activity. Each agent scans the device, encrypts the data, and sends it to a designated Snow Inventory server for analysis.

For Oracle environments specifically, SnowVR utilizes specialized Oracle Scanners that gather data on Oracle Database installations, Middleware, and Java usage. These scanners collect usage metrics, license requirements, and other relevant data for accurate tracking and compliance management. SnowVR can also integrate data from third-party tools through the Snow Integration Manager, providing a comprehensive view across an organization’s IT assets.

All data is then processed through Snow’s platform to support IT asset management and license compliance, ensuring companies get insights into software use and inventory control across their network. This process helps organizations manage their assets efficiently and maintain compliance with software licensing requirements.
